Designer Libuše Niklová
(1934 – 1981)
One of the icons of the Czech design graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Uherské Hradiště. She started designing her first toys (small whistling rubber figures) in Gumotex Břeclav in the middle of the fifties of the last century. Since the sixties, her name is associated in particular with Fatra Napajedla where her famous polyethylene animals and babies with harmonica-like bodies, imaginative inflatable toys, and also seating animals were created. She got patented three registered designs and nine inventions in total. Libuše Niklová has also sometimes designed packaging and printing for her toys.
