Children from Chropyně Nursery School Created an Original Design for Irrigation Bags

Fatra is preparing a new product – an irrigation bag for newly planted trees and shrubs. These bags have a capacity of up to 70 litres of water and allow the drip irrigation of plants without the need for deep irrigation trays or long watering times. Bags are ideal for urban planting where trees are often exposed to unsatisfactory conditions and need help to root well. To verify their functionality and fine-tune details, prototypes are being tested in the gardens of our developers and in public green spaces.

Currently the prototypes are made of grey foil, but in the future the bags will be made of mulch-coloured foil. Children from the Nursery School in Chropyně participated in the colour improvement of the prototypes, decorating them with waterproof paints. These prototypes were subsequently installed on the newly planted oak trees in the castle grounds in Chropyně. The trees have a beautifully coloured and functional collar. Workers from Chropyně Town Services filled them with water and will refill them every 2 to 3 weeks depending on the weather. The children even sang to the oaks, so the success of their rooting is assured.

The irrigation bag is suitable for anyone who is trying to take good care of newly planted trees and shrubs. Its use will be beneficial not only in urban areas but also in private gardens. We believe that the new irrigation bag will bring better care to the plants and help them survive even in difficult conditions.

We care about the world around us.
